Zarif and his accompanying delegation who arrived in Munich on Friday morning to attend the 53rd Munich Security Conference, met with Staffan de Mistura and exchanged views on Syrian issue.
The event is due to kick off later on Friday and will continue until Sunday, February 19.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi are among the top officials comprising FM Zarif’s delegation to the event.
More than 500 participants are planned to take part in the event. Near 50 foreign ministers, 30 defense ministers, and 90 parliamentarians are due to attend.
